EMAX II - CD-ROM problem

EMAX II - CD-ROM problem

2001-12-17 by nashy_boyuk

Hi,

I have both an Emax II KBD & EMAX II Turbo. I also have an Apple
CD-150 CD-Rom. This works perfectly with my EIIIXP & ESI but I can't
get either of the EMAX's to see it.

The EMAX II Turbo has an internal HDD (SCSI id 4) and I've set the
CD-Rom to SCSI id 2 but when the EMAX scans that id it hangs. I have
a terminator connected to the CD-Rom and only have the EMAX and CD
connected with a single cable - I've also tried disconnecting the
terminator and adding other items to the chain with no luck.

Any suggestions ?

Regards
Paul

I was never able to get an Apple CD ROM to work.
I had to find one of the old (very) Toshiba SCSI
drives. There were only a few models that work, but I
found one with a similar model number that did.
The adminstrator of this group has a list of drives
known to work.

Bob

Hi,
The Emax II doesn't like some Apple CDROM drives, other users have reported
problems with the CD150. Try a different CDROM drive.

I've had very good luck with a Plextor 4Plex drive with my EIII as well as my Emax II. As a matter of face heres one on EBAY for you. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1311071873

Good luck to you,
