Emax

Hello all - great to be here. 
Guess what, I need help. I bought a second emax II so I could leave 
one where my band rehearse and the other for sampling at home + I have 
contingency if one goes wrong at a gig. However, the cunning plan 
isn't coming together - for example, they're both in tune (with each 
other) but where I've placed a vocal sample over an octave of notes on 
one keyboard on the other it sounds the same about 5 notes up. 
Transpose transposes all notes so they stop being in tune. Any ideas?
