This solution here seems very interesting I think: http://www.codesrc.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=SCSI2SD
But it is currently out of stock - and although it states that it is compatible with Emax 1 and 2, with these machines you never know.

Hopefully this adapter will be in stock soon again.

As for SCSI to SATA, I dont know. But again with these machines, I doubt that it will work :)

I'd like to upgrade my emaxii staorage. currently i have a 100mb iomega scsi zip sdfor storage and i'm ok to stay with it, but since I'm replacing the data slider and display and maybe recapping the psu, i figured why not? but I refuse to spend $100+ on a scsi to cf adapter. I was looking on ebay and found a scsi to sata $5, sata to cf $5. or sata to sd $10

could this work? is sata incompatible?

The first and most important thing you have to find out is whether or not an interfacing device is truly SCSI-1 compatible.

If it’s not- it won’t work. If the vendor doesn’t know, it’s likely that it’s SCSI-2 or SCSI-3 and the probability that it will work decreases...

sry, i was hasty and didn't notice it said scsi SAS. An actual scsi to sata bridge is $250 just like the ide bridge, and the sata bridge is probably not scsi-1 anyway. I'll just leave storage alone, it's not worth the price to convert to modern storage, unless something breaks and it becomes a necessity.

yes , SCSI2SD - code/src wiki

this is very interesting. It even states that it's free to reproduce a sell. Is anyone familiar with production costs of this kind of stuff? would a few thousand dollars return a few hundred of these?

Check the compatibility list for SCSi2SD. Emax IS supported :) it works with scsi1 and can emulate 512kb block sizes. IMO best scsi storage salutation available for smaller format stuff (e.g., os only supports drives less than 2gb). it is not great for larger capacities but will be fine for your emax.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
