Midi control of parameters

2014-10-09 by krikor kouchian

Hello,

i tried to control some parameters via midi sysex on my emax (using an environment object in logic9) and I get crazy midi lag, each time I move a parameter.
Anybody tried it? is it a normal behavior?

thks

In my experience, the Emax does not respond to Sys-Ex fast enough for real-time parameter changes. I had a template for my Remote Zero, that allowed me to make changes, but the reaction time was always too slow, and inconsistent. That being said there are still four real-time parameters that can be assigned to most of the modulation destinations making the filter cutoff/resonance and LFO depth/rate controllable in real time. I have learned to accept this limitation.

Most samplers/synths do a note-off when receiving sys-ex. Emax doesn't?

Sys-Ex was never designed for this type of thing. That's what continuous controllers are for, and you are stuck with the routings the Emax gives you.
