Hi folks, I'm looking for around 20 floppies with the Emax I OS 3.2 version. Tried formatting blank floppies using EMXP but I didn't have any success. Since then my floppy drive has gone out. Anyone willing to help? Thanks2014-04-22 by julioho_53077@...

is os 3.2 for first edition emax only ? or is it se/hd & plus verison compatible also ? what is the latest os for plus version with scsi port on rear ? ________________________________ Från: "julioho_53077@...m" <julioho_53077@...> Till: emax@yahoogroups.com Skickat: tisdag, 22 april 2014 18:43 Ämne: [emax] Looking for Emax OS 3.2 blank floppies Hi folks, I'm looking for around 20 floppies with the Emax I OS 3.2 version. ok 3.2 is for non upgraded se machines it wont work in se or se/hd or plus os it will come up as wrong os disc the same if you try and load a plus disk into a standard se with no scsi the pre se models that were hd scsi compatible had there own os and only worked on that version for scsi upgrades you needed to upgrade the machine to se first before you could load the scsi os version roms and a special pal chip for doing the scsi the se added the spectral synthesis so any banks that contain that will not load into a os3.2 machine the plus os was used for the emaxes that had the external port so you could change the port to an external device other than scsi id0 which is the only id that the emax can boot from this allowed more than 1 scsi device on the bus and so it allowed you to change the id so you could load banks from any device id that had a scsi device attached up to 7 devices to the 8 device id network there is always one taken by the controller thats why you can only attach 7 devices each manufacturer used there own device id some use 7 some use 3 like the ensoniqs but eve3n though you had the plus os when you switch the machine off the external scsi id of your device is not kept and so when switch on it reverts back to scsi id0 for booting the emax os from scsi device this is a problem if your thinking of boot your machine from an external zip drive which can only use scsi id5/6 so you would need to always have a floppy to boot your machine if using such devices if you have an internal scsi zip drive with a external case then these can be set to scsi id0 if you have the version of femax with the external 25db scsi port you will need the scsi plus os disks
