That is correct.

VFD can be brighter and have a longer life than OLED.
With that said- VFD have a glass housing. - susceptible to breaking-
although if in studio environment is probably fine.
VFD also generate some heat, from my experience.

OLED can be gotten with exact pinout as a drop-in replacement.
I have never seen or found any VFD that are direct drop in.

OLED available in WHITE, BLUE, YELLOW.
