VFD can be brighter and have a longer life than OLED. With that said- VFD have a glass housing. - susceptible to breaking- although if in studio environment is probably fine. VFD also generate some heat, from my experience. OLED can be gotten with exact pinout as a drop-in replacement. I have never seen or found any VFD that are direct drop in. OLED available in WHITE, BLUE, YELLOW. -Ted On Jun 17, 2013, at 9:46 AM, Matt wrote: So if I get one that's the right size and pinout it needn't be vfd?
