i have just fitted a noritake itron vfd to robs emax i talked to manufacturer for the exact vieing area size so that the vfd filled the whole screen

they are very bright blue lighted leters and you get glaring when trying to take photo with a digital camera

by fitting this display you can remove the inverter the caps fot the negitive voltage and the pot for changing the angle as pin 3 is nc

you can remove the dc to ac invertor on the main board this is the component that produces the high pitched wine when el foil is dead

you have to wire single cables as trying to fit a ribbon there is not enough room under the display for it as it needs to be as close to the pcb as posibble as its 3 mm bigger than the original lcd 

they look great and would recomend than fitting other types of backlighted lcd modules less hassle in doing mods as no mods are needed just the wiring its a standard serial 8 bit conection pins 1-14
