Mmmm that display stuff doesn't look nice. I don't know any technical details about the hardware of the EMAX-II, but I'm pretty sure EMAX-II stores a few parameters in "some kind" of memory (i.e. not on disk). This memory is retained even when power is off. Now I haven't heard of any battery in the EMAX (?) so I guess another technology is being used, probably some kind of EEPROM (?) After using "special" functions in the "master" module, EMAX says "Just A Moment..." while saving the recalibration information into memory. As this message appears for about 1-2 seconds this means the save process is quite slow. That's why I think it's some kind of EEPROM, because saving information into (early) EEPROMs is known to be slow. EEPROMs can be rewritten only a limited number of times. When they're end of life, they can fail. Does your EMAX remember the LCD contrast settings ? Because that's also a parameter that is being saved in "memory". Maybe I'm totally wrong, and maybe there's a battery somewhere in the EMAX. If that's true, you should replace it :-) Perhaps you can find the problem by doing some diagnostic tests, as described in the diagnostics guide for EMAX (you can download that one from www.emulatorarchive.com). By the way, does anyone know if EMAX is using a battery or some kind of rewritable ROM ?? ///E-Synthesist --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, Charles Hopper <jibbachops@y...> wrote: > > Hi, thanks for the reply, i seem to have lost the > manual somewhere but found a copy on the web, i will > be able to sort the recalibration problem out as soon > as i can sort the new issue i have!
