I installed an HxC USB drive on my EMAX SE several months back because I couldn't get the original floppy drive working. Aside from about 100 Emax library banks that the eBay seller initially gave me, I haven't found any other HxC ready files; plus, it doesnt save new sounds, or even edited sounds. I was told that I need to update the HxC OS before it will save edits. This is a total pain in the ass. I've been told by tons of people that all of the HxC file operations I need to perform (such as the OS update) can be done on a Mac. But all of the instructions I read specify using a PC. Everything about this HxC drive is overly complicated and time consuming. Until there's a source for HFE files and a simple way to drag and drop them onto the drive, I would not recommend this product to anyone without an enormous amount of time and patience to deal with it. I regret installing it, and I've recently replaced it w a NOS floppy drive, also from eBay (around $30). The floppy drive works way better IMO. If I had a PC, I would definitely try out the EMuSer, which I only recently discovered as an option. I'm thinking of buying a dedicated PC just to use for EMuSer.
