Re: Softsynth Digidesign Mac/Atari ST

2015-03-12 by xeelox@...

So I managed to dig up the following diskettes for Mac:

"Sound Designer - Universal version 1.2"
"Sound Designer - Sound Files"

"Softsynth - Master Disk Version 2.1"
"Softsynth - Parameter Files"
"Softsynth - Backup Disk Version 2.1"

Disclaimer: I have no idea if these are still readable. I haven't had a 68k Mac in a few years, and even then it's been 20 years since I used these apps. Also these may well have been copy protected, as many Mac software disks were in those days, so I can't promise they would install even if they were readable.

I had wanted to archive/clone them into image files for the benefit of the community that preserved the original track and sector format, but never got around to investigating the proper/best way to clone them. Anyone know how feasible this is, or if it's even worth doing? Any interest in these apps beyond the OP?

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
