Found the way out. This may be usefull for someone, someday.
The problem was Emax didnt talk to 50b. Either emax scsi retro and 50b with PCMCIA to SD card adapter were tested and worked fine but not together. Reason:
1. SD card media was incompatible. You may have to try a number of different brands. It must be <2Gb
2. Termination of the scsi chain is important. If you install 50b internally, and set terminator on 50b (jumper 3) its likely you wont have an issue with termination.
But if you set 50b external, 50b J3 is not good enough. Have either active treminator on 50b side, or have 50b in the middle of the chain with emax on one end and another sampler (or any other hardware with scsi terminator) at the other end.
This chain works

#1- This is known fact that you cannot use 2GB or larger. This is a drive firmware limitation (not specifically an Emax limitation), and is noted in the PCD-50b documentation available on the web.
As Emax 1 doesn't use larger than 32MB- getting larger media doesn't make any sense. On Mon, Dec 9, 2013 at 11:17 AM, <kcnvc@...> wrote:
