Re: [colorvision_group] Spyder3Print 4 & Target Printing HPB9180 & Snow Leopard

2009-11-09 by shreymel

Back to this old chestnut!

I, unfortunately, still cannot print a proper target from Spyder3Print, now at v4.

I can print the target via Photoshop CS4, which I can then profile and everything works well, but it would be nice to able to print from Spyder3Print.

I have set Application Manager Color in the driver, what about the Color Matching setting? ColorSync or Vendor? Via Photoshop, there is no choice, but in Spyder3Print I can select either, but is defaulted to ColorSync with the paper profile selected, rather than automatic.

I hope that sheds some light on this.

We've finally solved one with the Canon graphic printers that now allows users to print targets directly from any application (including ours) again, without it causing incorrect color (this involves a rather unexpected install process to get the Canon drivers to be fully functional). This sounds quite similar: older OS version worked, user already knows what settings to use, works from Photoshop-printed targets, but not Spyder3Print-printed targets. I'll see if Dave Miller (who has our HP B9180) can add any info, but he's pretty busy at the moment.
