I agree, but there's nothing to be done about it, other than to realize
that this is how things currently "work".
When you think about it, and given that there are only two radio button
choices here, it makes "sense", in it's own way.
"ColorSync" should mean exactly what it says: that when this radio
button is selected, the driver will print with a ColorSync profile. And
when you're printing from inside PrintFIX PRO/Spyder3Print, both of
these radio buttons are enabled, and you can actively choose (and
MUST choose) to turn this off. (Printing with a ColorSync profile means
the print will be color managed).
"Epson Color Controls" means: "not ColorSync", and by extension, this
means that whatever controls you select and configure in the Epson-
specific portion of the driver are used to control how the driver
prints. What's misleading about this "label" is that it implies
you're using the Epson-specific sliders and other "Epson Color Control"
settings in "their" part of the driver... but this isn't necessarily
the case, since you will be choosing "Off - No Color Management"
in their section instead. (That's also critical - I'd forgotten to
say that in my last post!)
So to add to what I said before:
You not only have to choose "Epson Color Controls" in the "Color
Matching" pane of the driver... ALSO, you have to go into the
Epson-specific part of the driver and TURN COLOR MANAGEMENT OFF.

Correct. The only way you can fix all of this is to reprint your
target, take new measurements, and start over.

That's also correct, as I described in the last post. It's also
misleading, since it implies you're actually GETTING a ColorSync
profile when printing via Photoshop, when in fact: you are NOT.

That will only be true:
a) When you're printing from inside Photoshop, and
b) When Photoshop is set for either "Photoshop Manages Colors"
or "No Color Management". (Either of these choices will dim the
radio button controls in the Color Matching pane of the driver,
at the next step, and will auto-select ColorSync... but as I've
kept saying, this will NOT apply a ColorSync profile during the
printing process, you're basically getting whatever color management
that Photoshop itself has configured from it's Print dialog... either
a custom profile, or no profile).

("PrintFIX PRO", please...:-) otherwise you're going to confuse
people and make them think you're using the years-ago-discontinued
original PrintFIX product)

Something like that.

Right! So you have an "easy" fix ahead of you...:-)
Everyone reading this list should take careful note of all this.
It's applicable both when you're using the current release
drivers for all Epson printers (non-Leopard specific) and also
if you're using one of the beta versions of Leopard-specific
drivers for certain printers (Epson has made a number of these
available on their web site, but none of them have been "released"
even though they are currently months late, according to Epsons
published released date guidelines).
