Have recently bought PrintFIX Pro, but the Spectrocolorimeter does not
seem to operate as described. I can use it to measure the colour
patches, using the "Enter" or "Return" key on the keyboard, but I
should also be able to use the button on top of the Spectro - but that
doesn't seem to do anything. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a
hardware fault? The profiles I am getting seem fine - but it would
just be easier to use the button on the Spectro.

You don't mention whether the top of the spectro "clicks" as it should or not. Or how you expect the "button" to work. The small dot is an LED that illuminates when activated, its not a button, per se: the whole top of the device clicks, rather like a mouse. Occasionally a new unit will be sticky, and require a bit of force in the right place to get it freed up and working. But if it is making contact, and still not causing a measurement to occur, that would probably be a failed electrical connection (the original meaning of "bug", though an actual insect inside thats stopping the switchis only one of many possible caused ). So if a bit of pushing and prodding around the edges of the top plate with increasing amounts of force does not free it up, then you will need to go to Colorvision.com, and file support ticket to get it swapped out.
