I've just received the 3800 and the Epson profiles are very good 
indeed.I upgraded from the R2400 and with that one I used my custom 
profiles made with PrintFix Pro.I do not think I'll need custom 
profiles for the 3800 (using Epson papers,of course),I'll make 'em 
with PrintFix for different papers (Ilford,Moab,etc.). The results 
compared to the 2400 are a little better,but,yes,it may be the new 
owner complex :-)
