Bc2000 (for the BCF2000 & BCR2000)

hi guys i ve had no problems with my bcr2000 under xp in the past, but now i just got a new machine. installed xp, installed SP2, connected the bcr and windows

You say "trying to overwrite with the Behringer drivers": but how
exactly are you doing this? If you're trying to do a manual "Update
driver" from Window's Device Manager: I'm not sure that would work.

It should work like this:

1. With the USB cable connected, switch on the BCR.

2. If it hasn't been installed before, Windows' "USB Audio Device"
automatically gets installed. This item should appear under "Sound,
video and game controllers" in Windows' "Device Manager" (run via
"Control Panel" -> "System" -> "Hardware").

3. Run the Behringer USB driver's setup program; for the latest
version 1.2.1.3 that's "bcr2000-driver-setup.exe". You may get 1 or 2
warnings from Windows that you're installing "unsigned" drivers or
something, but you can simply choose "Continue" in these cases.
This installation should replace the item "USB Audio Device" with
"B-Control Midi (10/9/2005,1.2.1.3)" in Device Manager.

If this doesn't work, I really don't know what's wrong.

That is really weird.

After a harddisk crash I reinstalled Windows XP + SP2 a few weeks ago,
and installation of my BCF and BCR USB drivers worked exactly as I
described, so I thought I could speak with some authority - frankly I
have no idea what went on in your case, but let's be glad that you
finally managed to get things working.

By the way, I've just discovered a bug in those same Behringer USB
drivers for Windows XP, and developed a workaround in the new BC
Manager version 1.5.0: this bug gave BC Manager (and some of its
users!) a hard time. So all in all it's safe to conclude that these
drivers and their installers aren't completely flawless...
