After a harddisk crash I reinstalled Windows XP + SP2 a few weeks ago, and installation of my BCF and BCR USB drivers worked exactly as I described, so I thought I could speak with some authority - frankly I have no idea what went on in your case, but let's be glad that you finally managed to get things working. By the way, I've just discovered a bug in those same Behringer USB drivers for Windows XP, and developed a workaround in the new BC Manager version 1.5.0: this bug gave BC Manager (and some of its users!) a hard time. So all in all it's safe to conclude that these drivers and their installers aren't completely flawless... Mark.
