Hi, from Spain.

Recently, I acquired a S1100 unit. Fully loaded! Latest OS in EPROMs, 16MWords, and all options installed. FX card not removed. Not my first Akai, but feel It can become one of my faves due to comments read here and there about its sound character.

Best of luck with your new unit! I use my s1000, s-3000, s-950 in conjunction with my MPC 3000. Love all of them. How is your area as far as finding parts and repairs? Even in the NYC area here in the states it's tough to find reliable techs. Take Care---Rob C.

Hi, Rob, thank you very much for good wishes!!

Although here, in Madrid area, there are a couple of synthesizer technicians, I am actually doing myself all the mods and upgrades to my studio gear, as I have enough knowledge and soldering/upgrading skills to keep my equipment as it best, changing EL panels for LED ones (and removing inverters), cleaning/substitution of potentiometers, SCSI2SD installations, recapping, etc etc... For finding parts, you know... eBay international sellers use to help a lot for getting parts, as patient is enough, you can get them sometimes for a "reasonable" price :)
