SDSV Tom to Hi Hat conversion

SDSV Tom to Hi Hat conversion

2015-04-06 by d.conley@...

Hi all

I'm sure I saw this posted some time ago but can't seem to find it, apols if this is searchable.

Does anyone know who/where I can get an SDSV tom module converted into a hi hat?

I seem to remember somebody in Germany could maybe do this. I can't find any info or schematics on this on Google.

Many thanks

Dave

Yes, Micha is here so I bet he soon joins the discussion.
I know he flashed a few other Simmons mods on FB the other day. :)

Man...this will be a dream come true if Michael can pull it off.  I have 3 SDSV units loaded with snares, kicks and toms.  I've been trying to track down one of the limited hi hat and cymbal cards for a while now...so this would be awesome!

I have a full set of working SDS5 with cymbal and hi-hat modules along with a working SDS6 with midi module.  It was used professionally but is in good condition.  I have already had a very decent offer on the SDS5 and am looking for best offer.

If you know anyone that is interested please forward.

I and in Ontario, Canada and was the first person to purchase and use the Simmons live in North America.

This is depending on the module you provide.

I convert any snare, tom or bass to the analogue HH of the early days, NOT to the digital as later released. The early boards had all necessary holes for the additional parts already drilled, then the conversion is 50€

Later modules had nothing prepared, then I charge 70€, because it is a lot of work. The best module to convert is a snare, because Reso and LFO are already fitted.

How much are you asking for your SDSV module?

I believe you asked on another email if I had a schematic of the MIDI circuit on the SDS6.  No I don’t.  I only have a copy of the schematic that has been going around.  It only indicates there is additional circuitry and that the unit programming was changed for the MIDI implementation.
