simmons sdx

2004-11-24 by cdalcin61

Hi Patrice, my sdx was a standard unit but it was later customized by dave simmons and
assembled in a rack. I have the OS Floppys 2.1G e 3.11 (nov.91), when booting up the unit
this message appears on the screen " checksum software problem ". I think this is due to
the floppy drive unit. Now I am looking for a new drive (model sony MP-F73W-00D ) and
new floppy disks; by the way which Simmons sdx presets floppys do you have?
My address is Cristiano Dal Cin, via Campo dei fiori 6, 21013 Gallarate (varese) Italy.
Your surname seems to me french, since I can speak french language, is it possible to talk
to you? Would you give me your number? where do you live?
thanks a lot
bye
cristiano

That's hard too answer. If it is in great condition, fully working, containing the entire sound library, full 8MB, no dry FSRs on the pads it might sell for (even far) over 1000 Euro. Depending on the number of faults it also might even converge at zero. I have 2 kits. One was 2000.- (13 ZI pads and still working) and one was 400.- (partly running, 12 ZI pads but only 4 or 5 reliably working)

On the topic of SDX... I'm curious to know how many on here own an SDX.... and know of others with one?

If anyone is interested, I might sell my SDX. Comes with heavy case
with wheels and belonged to the Hard Rock band Accept.

It's the fully working brain only with, HD & complete library and all
software that was available (took me some years to complete !).

Contact me directly if interested.

Best,

Thomas

I think "...and belonged to the techno legend Thomas Heckmann" might be
a better selling point these days. ;)
