SDS8 circuit pic

2014-08-16 by alfpaches@...

Hi all!

Could anyone share a photo of the SDS8 motherboard? I bought  recently one. It seems to have been manipulated by the previous owner, and I have the impression that the wires of the transformer (which does not seem to be original, it is dated 1997) to the motherboard are not connected properly.

SDS8 works but the sound doesn´t seems to be the characteristic of a SDS8 (I had one some years ago). I mean, yeah, it sounds like a SDS8, but, so to say, as if the sound were something out of phase.

Thanks in advance!

I´d just need a  pic of the wires leading from the transformer to the circuit board. And if it´s possible to know which type of transformer was the original. Mine seems to have been replaced by a new one (it ´s dated 1997) and its features are:thyroid POT.20VAPri.220V5-550-60hzSec.18v / 18v6- 2 / 0- 9

Does anyone know if this transformer is suitable for SDS8?

Thanks in advance!

Buenas Alfonso,
He subido alguna foto de la placa y de la zona de la fuente. No tienen mucha calidad pero espero que te sirvan.

Hi Alfonso.
I've uploaded some mobo and transformer pics. Not the best quality but I hope it helps.

I thought I had a pic but cannot find it. At least one of the three I've
owned was modified with swedish PSU though since our regulations
regarding voltage and power are still among the strictest on the planet...

Gracias.

Hi Jose. Thanks for the pics. In principle, I see something different. In your SDS8 only 3 wires go to the board, while mine out 4 (two of them go to the same solder point and there is another that goes to the negative terminal of one of the black capacitors. Perhaps this means nothing and that because the transformer is different from mine, it was necessary to make these connections (or maybe the previous owner did a great fudge, do not know). Could you take a look at the transformer and see if you can read its features ?.Thank you

The "three wires vs. four wires" situation could possibly come from the
fact that your transformer has two separate 18V secondary windings while
the other transformer probably has a center-tapped winding. There is no
difference in functionality as long as one connects the proper ends (in the
four wire scenario).

He subido alguna foto más del transformador en detalle. No vi ninguna característica, simplemente lleva una pegatina con tipo y n. serie. No encontré nada en Google por esa referencia. Si necesitas algo más ya sabes.Un saludo.

I've uploaded more detailed pics of the transformer. I can't see any specs, just a label with reference and serial no. I didn't find any information on Google about it. Let me know if you need anything else.

Regards.

Muchísimas gracias José. Afortunadamente la SDS8 está ya funcionando correctamente.

Thanks a lot, Jose. Fotunately the SDS8 is working correctly now. :)
