Glueing cracked shells?

Hi all,
I got another set of SDS7 pads yesterday. I've given them the once over today. They're generally good but bass drum shell is in poor condition (the rubber surface is OK), the plastic is cracked on practically every point of the hexagon. Though the vast majority of the plastic is still here. Its certainly worth fixing.
Looks like the previous owner rectified this using duct tape but I was thinking I might try glueing it back together.
Is this advisable? I'm sure some of you must have been down this route before? Is there a particular glue I should use or anything I should be weary of?
