alternative to Simmons EPB

alternative to Simmons EPB

2012-03-11 by alfpaches

Hi list
As I lost any kind of hope to find a Simmons EPB to buy, Ive decided to lookin for an alternative. Yesterday I saw this device on EBAY US.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/TOP853-USB-universal-programmer-EPROM-MCU-GAL-PIC-/330467368504?_trksid=m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D6899369431696068324..
I think it could be work in the same way than a EPB do. It means, it could burn eproms to use them with my SDS7, SDS9, ETC...
The only problem would be ,according Ed told me ,( thanks again, Ed Wolfgang and Jesper) that I should convert my audio files to 8 bit files.
Anyone have any idea how to do that?, And what kind of device I would need to do?
Any advice is welcome
Thanks in advance

You'd simply need some audio application. Bias Peak on the Mac will save as 8 bit files. I'm sure there are programs on the PC as well. Or you can hire someone to do it for you.

BTW- I have a Simmons EPB I'll be selling in the next few weeks along with hundreds of eproms. I was going to sell it last year and got caught up in a big project. I just have to sample my sounds first before I sell the unit and the chips.
I also have the Eprom burner that Digidesign used to sell that worked off of the Mac using Sound Designer software.

Also, a few E-Mu E-Drums and LOTS of sound cartridges for those too.
