mark II polycarbonate surfaces

2012-02-13 by alfpaches

Hi list
I´m thinking about to replace the polycarbonate surfaces from my sdsv pads. I know about a company called MAKROLON. They make polycarbonate sheets but I don´t know if it´s necessary to buy a complete sheet or they could to cut the sheets according to the hexagonal pad shape.
If the last thing isn´t possible, somebody knows what kind of tool is required to cut polycarbonate ?.
Thanks in advance

"Makrolon" is a Polycarbonate brand of Bayer Chemicals. I always buy sheets of Makrolon (for example 1x2m) and cut them myself. It can be easily done with a carper cutter or a pad saw. The thickness should be around 1-1.5mm. 2mm is still ok but also more expensive

i just bought an sds 5 and from what i see its what they call puck board at the arenas as i do this for a living .if you get some used puck boad the otherside might be good and this might be cheaper for you.you can cut it using a normal table saw blade as i have done this before making my pads from scratch using a mold and fiberglass for shells
