MTM and midi control of hihat pedal

MTM and midi control of hihat pedal

2012-02-07 by jesper

Hi list,

I mainly use my MTMs as midi to trig-converters. I wonder if anyone
doing the same has found a good way to midi control the hihat pedal
position, i e "pressing" it using midi command.

I'm thinking of the SDS-V primarily, but also SDS-7 control would be nice.

I use the Mod Wheel - MIDI controller 001 - for open/closed. Works well enough in real time but even better when drawn in Protools. There's a lot of gradation missed by the pedal that's available when you have 127 levels of open.

Thanks - I'll experiment with that (in Atari Cubase though). :)
