HI Jesper,
congratulations for your acquisition ; it seems a bargain !
I paid more for mine (about 150 £ ) even if it was in perfect shape ...
My SDSIV's SN is 4185 !
I didn't have any case with it except the original pieces of wood on each side of the unit !

Bye for now,
CU soon !
Patrice.

Hi list!

SDS-IV has arrived. A quite battered unit and one oscillator (channel 1) is
dead...
It came with the original pads (premier), stand and a case that looks like
it might be an original roadcase from the late 70's.

For those who own one (Phil!, any other?) - do you have a case with your?
Serial number? Mine starts with 41 or so and I wonder if all numbers does
that...

The circuit board is marked 1979 and most components are from early 1979 or
late 1978. 25 years, time flys!

Now I'll try to find one of those collars with an arrow
http://www.helmet.de/simmons/sds4.htm to complete the look and a future may
see a refurbished woodwork, but priority one is the oscillator.

It just seems to contain standard components and I think you could clone it
at a modest cost. I payed 82 pounds + shipping so I'm happy!

In the same deal came an Ultimate Percussion, but I haven't had any luck
getting any sounds out of it yet...

With the pads? Not bad either...

Just checked, 4174. I wonder if that is unit 74 or 174 in the run then... 4
makes sense, since that is the model number. Sometimes series starts with a
1 instead of 0... Anybody who knows? Phil, your number please! ;)

Yes, mine did too, but it had an additional case. I will take a picture of
it one of these days.

Sorry guys, mine is all packed away (because of the longest house
move in history !!).

Soon as I unpack it I'll let you know.

Think mine cost around £170 so you definitely got a bargain Jesper !

Patrice, did you get those replacement batteries sorted out ok ?

Yes, I must've... It was on Ebay, but the guy had zero feedback so I guess
that kept people from bidding. Good for me I know him from the Telex list at
yahoogroups then! ;)

Now I need a SDS-3 to complete my series! ;)
