Will also check the 2Box review with curiousity since I lend them a Synare pad in their battle against Roland about the mesh construction. :) -- electronically yours, jesper - -- --- ---- ----- ---- --- -- - www.electronic-obsession.se

Enjoy... > > http://www.digitaldrummermag.com I finally had time to read it. Great stuff! I learned a few new things, like Vangelis using the SDS-III... Having one of the first 100 kits mentioned in the article made me really feel like I was part of history. *geekish smile* I still keep all fingers crossed for Dave's work against GC. I block new subscribers to our list on a monthly basis when they turn to us to get help with their crappy chinese kits. Serves them right... >:) (A few have joined to learn what Simmons really is about though!) In next issue, can't we hear more about the design history of certain features, please? (i e run generator, second skin function etc) Last note: Pollard deserves some credit for their zone to pitch implementation and Star for their strike zone design (Synare 1). The late 70's sure were interesting times in the music business! -- electronically yours, jesper - seldom hitting anything produced this side of 1980 with a stick... - -- --- ---- ----- ---- --- -- - www.electronic-obsession.se

now if only dave goes down the path of the other dave (smith, formerly of sequential circuits) and goes back to the all analogue path. releasing new versions of all the best bits of simmons design. second skin, run generator but also overtone function like on yamaha ed10 and pearl drum x. modulation functions like on pearl syncussion and syndrum. two oscillators per pad like synare. i am going to stop now before i get too depressed. but with velocity, that would be my ideal drum synth. even if it were only 2 channel.... --- In Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com, jesper <jesper@...> wrote:
