Some practice advices for your selector pad

Some practice advices for your selector pad

2011-04-17 by alfpaches

Hi all
Recently Ive bought a SDS7 with a memory card and selector pad by only 150. The SDS7 and memory card are both in perfect conditions, but the red paint from pad selector surface was missing. I didnt know how restore this parts, but the solution came from my girlfriend. She told me: paint it with red nails lacquer!. First of all I clean the rubber surface with a cloth and the liquid that is used to clean the plastic parts from cars dashboard ( it works great also to clean the rubber surfaces from pads Mark III and Mark IV) and then ,with a lor of patience, I paint the numbers and the hexagonal shapes. The result is really good and cheap. At this links you can see some pics.

The wife I did have would've said "black" and that would've been a
crappy idea. ;)

However, I have two selector pads in my closet. One with most pads
working and one with most pads broken. Maybe time to combine the two
into something useful...?

Hi Berk
I know nails lacquer sounds like a joke but the question is that it works and is easy , cheap and very similar to the original. I tried time ago the advices posted in Wolfgang web about restore Mark IV pads and they really work too ( the best thing to restore the black colour plastic sides is the black cream for shoes). Cheers
