Analogue (musicaid) Clap Trap

So, i just got one of those, and judging from the Digital ClapTrap I already got, thought it
would be the bees knees.
Turn it on, press trigger and sort of deception here: doesn't sound that good at all!
So me thinks: maybe it's busted in some way. Anybody has one and care to compare?
The "ensemble" section (upper): makes a burst of noises similar to hot-plugging a jack
connector. The "ragged/tight" pot controls the spread of the noises, from "krk" to "kr-krk"
The "crash" section triggers a decaying white noise burst. High/low pot gives filtering
(with harsh resonance on "high" setting).
All in all, inferior to digital clap trap IMHO.
