MIDI2SDS(X)

MIDI2SDS(X)

Hey people!

I'm trying to trigger SDSV with MIDI2SDS(X) - a rack version..
I'm sure someone here use it also.
So, i realize what it sounds different from triggering it from pads :(
Seems to be not enough power, if you know what i mean..
Each sound triggering with like double click..
I use "synth" jack inputs.

Will love to hear your advise :)

Best!

Isn't Paul still on the list? He designed the darned thing! :)

I have (had, managed to kill an IC) one of the 2nd incarnation. That you
needed to modify to trigger above +5 volts. Have you checked if it
triggers a burst strong enough?

Hi,

I use a couple of these from Elby Designs and they work fine - dynamics and loudness - with all my Simmons, Pollard, ULT,
Pearl, Frontline, Tama, Synare , JHS aso....though real XLR triggers from the original riot shield pads on the original SDS V (00002) seem
to be slightly different as the trigger pulse itself comes through to the audio path and gives it a much harder click.
Check the manual for the right voltage and trigger pulse length on the SDS(X).

Best
