Don't forget the entire italo disco scene with Fancy (slice me nice -
"swoooosch"), Mike Mareen etc.

David Robinson of The Cars bought one of the first Syndrums from Joe 
Pollard back in the late 70's and used them on all of their 
recordings - he also used a Simmons SDS7 on their Heartbeat City tour 
in 1984.
