SDSV kit

SDSV kit

2010-12-10 by humanbeatbox7728

Hello gang,

Mark here in the states and brand new to the group, hope everyone is well and getting prepared for the holidays.

Have been drumming both acoustically and electronically for over 30 years (damn, that's depressing in and of itself) and throughout the years have owned many different Simmons kits, Synares and Pollard Syndrums. At one point I was fortunate to own 3 different sdsv kits, white, yellow and black ... for some idiotic reason I sold each a few years back and now find myself wanting to get back into electronic drumming. If anyone has an sdsv kit that they would be willing to part with I'm be most interested and appreciative. I am looking for quality so the cosmetics and functionality of the rig is very important to me. Am also looking for a Pollard quad setup (sold that too) but that's an entirely different proposition altogether.

Thanks and best to all,
Mark

The sad things with Simmons gear is that they're so often battered and
bruised. But there are some skillful restorers on the list and still
good stuff on the second hand market if you're patient.

...and too often needs a bigger wallet too. You seldom see them for sale
now and even more seldom as sets with both brain and pads. I'm still
looking for a pedal assembly for my Quad 478 set.

Re: [Simmons Drums] SDSV kit

I guess that really depends on what you have and the condition of the rig ... a
fully functional brain, at least 4 pads in really good shape, cables and, if
possible, hardware ... color of the kit? not that it really matters, just
curious ... are you able to send me any photos of the rig? I would greatly
appreciate that as well. I know a kit like I just described and want isn't
going to cost a couple hundred ... I am prepared for at least 900-1000 usd
(maybe a few hundred more or less) plus shipping/posting charges ... like I
mentioned, the shape of the entire rig is very important to me. Thanks very
much.

Hi Berk,
That was the problem, I wasn't thinking ... my wife and I had just had 2
children within 18 months and I really thought my playing days were over ...
but, as you very well know, once it's in your blood it stays for good. You live
& learn.

Best,
Mark

In all fairness it has the Hi Hat and Cymbal Modules, but its probably the craziest (highest) price I've ever seen.

I'm sure this will lead to more lesser Simmons products being listed with ridiculous buy it now prices and generally inflate the market.

My Clap (mk 2) cost me 1500 SEK (close to 170 EUR these days) just
recently. The seller just surfaced on the list BTW.

Re: [Simmons Drums] SDS V for a great new high price ;-)

2011-02-01 by Thomas Heckmann

Ok, let me beat that ;-)

Claptrap mk 1 £ 112.-
Claptrap mk 2 for € 76.-
My other mk 1 I can't remember
But all some years ago before the big Simmons madness...

And I recently swapped a SDS-2000 for a near mint condition SDS V, but "only" with standard modules ;-)
Bargains can still be found these days...

Yes Jenna, you're nice and I was fast on the ad... (and too be honest,
cosmetically it's quite battered) ;)

But on the other hand, you got a cheap Synare twin if I recall
correct... Wasn't it you who snatched my spare SDS-IV too? (ouch

Well, I am the one who sold my Mk2 to Jesper. Too cheap apparently, thats

For a Musicaid I will pay maybe 400-500 Euro depending on condition. (Yes I
really want one).

I'm just curious what an analogue Claptrap or SDS III would sell for these

And good to know the instrument future looks bright and my pension is safe
