Hello,
Has anyone idea how much is the entire kick unit without the pedal. The kick pad what we have had wiring detached, however, sodering did not do the job. Is someone having a working kick unit without the pad that I could buy cheaper. We have this Chinese "Simmons SD5K drum set. The drum is utilized in the church for young people Mass and operated by an excited drummer. I am the director of the Music Ministry just trying to help to make the drum set functional. I aapreciate your gracious input.

Please read the group description: "This is a forum for users of the original Simmons electronic drums, made in the UK in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Hello Mrs. Maria, we are sorry, but we have nothing to do with the company where you bought the drumset from. To explain this: Many years ago, Simmons was the leader in drum synthesizers and this is the newsgroup for these old beauties. Two years ago, some people from guitar center adopted the well-sounding name "Simmons" and now sell their products under this flag. This made us very upset and angry; may be you can understand, why my friend Jesper was reacting a bit rough in his answer. But we are all friends in Jesus, aren't we? To solve your problem: Have you tried another pad on the bassdrum input of the control unit? Is this working, if whacked with a stick? Then my advice would be to replace the pickup in the bassdrum pad. This is easy and can be made by any radio technician. And it is cheap. Bless Michael
