Buying my first Simmons kit - Question

Hello,

I'm about to purchase a SDS-5 kit, a synare snare, and a syndrum
tom. I have samples on my PC that I'd like to assign to each of
these e-drums. Did Simmons ever put out a pad to midi converter? is
that what the Simmons MTM is? I've been advised by someone on
another forum that I can use the Alesis DM5 as a pad to midi
converter, but I'd like 15+ inputs if possible.

I also need to be steered towards some samplers/brains that I can
load my samples into to assign to each pad. I'd like to be able to
equalize each pad individually with other outboard equalizers if
possible. With that, I'm thinking the sampler/brain will need to
have as many outs as ins, or am I way off?

Any information will be much appreciated.

Everything you're about to buy is extremely cool, but you can't load
any samples into them. They all generate analog drum sounds.

Yes! Only 8 inputs, though.

The DM5 is a sound module that can accept 12 pad inputs (1/4"). You
can use it to trigger something else if you don't want to use its
internal sounds.

I don't know of any samplers with that many individual outs (doesn't
mean they don't exist); I'd suggest EQing your samples before loading
them in (since you have them on your computer.) You could use
something like a Roland PM-16 to trigger them via MIDI. *cough* I've
got one for sale *cough*

HI,
if you want a SIMMONS, a sampler & some Eqs possibilities...?
why not finding an SDX (the famous SImmons sampler with some
incredible analogic filters in it ...16 outputs & inputs ...more a
SPM8:2 for mixing ???
