Silver painted SDS-9 pads, right? Damn... I'd forgotten about that
crappy movie! :)

Happy holidays,

I too wear a silver bikini when playing my Simmons!
Merry Xmas!

ps I just received an MTX9 - not convinced it's a sensible purchase, but there are a couple of samples that sound good pitched down. Not one for the purists, but it is a St Albans Simmons!

Prove it Susie! ;)

Just kidding, though great to have a lass here who understands the
greatness of Simmons. All these gear lists are 99% boys (or men who wish
they still were). :D

[Simmons Drums] Re: Teri Hatcher vs SDS7

2009-12-27 by Susie

I guess I'm reliving my past to a certain extent, in that I could never afford all this lovely analog gear when I was growing up.

I had a bizarre conversation with an old blues guy who insisted I wasn't a 'proper musician'. I insisted I was, as I used 'proper' synths with transistors in them and tried to have an analog signal path where possible. He looked at me rather strangely.

As for silver bikinis, dream on boys! :-)

Blues guys start 90% of their songs with a proper "woke up this morning". To make it extra proper, in all cases this line is repeated immediately. And blues guys often smell strange. So what do you expect? A proper discussion?
May be proper synths run with a mechanical clockwork? And may be it is time to release the ultimate Simmons bikini collection.
Best wishes for 2010.

  Hi

Proper synthesizers have valves in them

Very few drum synths have valves in them. But I wouldn't mind a restored
Novachord though... :)

We risk getting off topic, but are you aware of this page:
http://www.discretesynthesizers.com/nova/intro.htm

The sound clips of the restored instrument are amazing.

I wouldn't mind starting with a Clavioline or Univox - there are a lot more of them around.

Nice hex bikini. I wonder if I could fit it with piezo triggers?

Tell me about it! I lived on next to nothing while studying and when my
first paychecks came rolling in I went crazy. :)

*haha* I signal path for a blues musician needs to pass through at least
75 cl of whiskey before being counted as properly filtered.

I guess we can live with that. Great to hear that you take the boyish
tone is such a good way.
