I have one of these and I love it to bits. Definitely a classic piece of engineering. The only sad part is that it doesn't dump its settings via MIDI sysex - you have to use save them to tape. It's a very reliable tape interface (though slow, obviously) but if my old mono cassette data recorder (also '80s vintage) ever gives up the ghost ... :(
...Plus, it's even getting difficult to find suitable cassettes!!

But a great piece of equipment - it did variable hi-hat control years before Roland thought of it, it gives you very precise control over triggering parameters, and it was totally versatile - able to convert analogue AND MIDI into MIDI AND analogue. It's the kind of gear you can't bring yourself to part with, even if you stop using it :)

I've dumped patches onto HD-recorders. It worked well indeed...

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
