Rare electronic pads

2009-05-28 by milosakhamun

I am after a particular type of pad but don't know what the brand is. They are triangular shaped, here is a link to what they look like http://manchester.gumtree.com/manchester/20/34895320.html

UP = "Ultimate Percussion"
one of Simmons' former competitors

Hi,

It's obviously UP, or Ultimate Percussion. I have a drum brain (K2-X)
which is one of those I use the most and have had a few pads but sold
them...

Here's a picture of mine:
http://www.electronic-obsession.se/studio/studio_sting_drums_n_echo_web.jpg
(the green one in the middle)

I used to own two standard pads with it along with a standalone pad like
this one:
http://matrixsynth.blogspot.com/2008/03/up-ultimate-percussion-super-analogue.html

The K2-X is marvellous but the built in pad sounded like any crappy
"submarine ping-drum" out there. The pads however, are quite nice and
has a good feel to them.

A few more pics of other UP-stuff here:

Hey Jesper,

can you send me a close up of the K2X ? I own the K2 and I'm curious
what the
difference is (except for the green and the size ;-)

Best

Thomas

I'd love to exchange a few shots Thomas since I'm interested in the K2
as well and missed out on one by sheer accident on Ebay last year. I'll
get to this offlist later. It's a very busy week for me here at work...

But, they sure look very similar when it comes to features. I guess the
factory presets are different since the K2 is clearly marked how it's
intended to sound. The K2-X have eight identical channels and can do all
sorts of John Foxxish sounds. :D

The early roland pads had nearly the same shape, perhaps not what you're
after
