Does anyone know of a source for replacement T-handle nuts in the US for the V, 7 and 8 series pads? I'm missing a few. Many thanks!

Hey Roger! Hope all is well ! I looked into this as well a while ago. The closest match I could find is the T-Handle nuts that pearl uses for their tom mounts. I had in mind to order extras, but never did. The pearl nuts ( I know, sounds weird !?!?! ) have 2 different diameters on the stem, but ( if memory serves ) have the same threads. They should work for the V's, but I'm not sure about the 7's or 8's. I can measure one of them up for you with a caliper if you need me to. Let me know. - Roland

Hi Roland, All is well and same to you. Good to know about the Pearl nuts. I'll pay a visit to some of the local drum shops this weekend to see if I can find some. There's a couple of places in PDX that have loads of old parts. I mostly need them for my SDS7 pads, but can use some from my V's and replace them. Thanks for the advice! Pearl does make a nut with the proper threading and a similar design - the Pearl UGN-6/2 - but, unfortunately, it does not work. The barrel is not long enough to properly tension. You could, however, add washers to get it to work. It might be worth looking into having some fabricated if there are enough of us to warrant it. That's not the same nut I have ( again, weird sounding !?!?! ). The T-nuts I'm referring to are from the 7/8" pearl tom mounts BT-3 that would be screwed to a shell. I looked it up, and the BT-3 mount is the same, but they changed the T-nut ( SOB !! ). Now I wish I would have ordered some. I guess it's possible that there's a few around somewhere. BTW, I just tried one of the Pearl nuts that I have and it worked fine on a V pad. I don't think it will work on the others though. - Roland
