SDS9 HELP!

SDS9 HELP!

2008-12-27 by db13401992

Hi all, just joined... fantastic site! I need some help troubleshooting
my SDS9 brain: none of the pads trigger the brain but the auto trigger
function and everything else works fine. The LEDs don't light up at all
even with the sensetivity all the way up but they light up during auto
trigger. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Maybe too obvious, but are you using SDS-9 pads too or something
else/some other model?

Thanks Jesper, I am the original owner of this complete SDS9 kit,
nothing changed or modified.

Check, while Autotrigger is running, if you can alter the values with audible result. If this is not possible, change IC50, a 4067 working as multiplexer. If it IS possible: Looks like IC19, a 4051, is dead. This one is plexing the 6 pad inputs.
Good Luck
Michael

OK, I just wanted to check since some newbies arrive with "faults" that
aren't faults. Go with the 4051-tip then. Good luck!

Thanks Michael, While Aototrigger is running I can't adjust any values,
like the dynamics or speed pots. Because I don't have a schematic,
what/where is the "IC50" that needs to be changed?
Thanks.

Ok, only to make sure there are no misunderstandings: Check, if you are able to change the SOUNDS, meaning: Are the vertical knobs working? If not, IC50 is dead (Input mux). It is no problem to get you the schematics. I have the best SDS9 schematics ever drawn, from Thierry EPPHERRE, a french Simmons specialist. I need your adress: mail it to: buchnerelectronics@...
(In case you are not into electronics: IC means "integrated circuit", a small flat black box with a lot of silver feet, soldered onto the "motherboard" of SDS9. IC 50 is its number as an electronic part inside the SDS9 labelled white on the printed circuit board. It is located on the left side of the vertical control knob row, medium size. On its top you'll find its number like CD4067. It costs a little more than 1 Euro).
Again, good luck.
