I've googled to confirm my memory, but I cannot find anything, but if I 
recall correct the 8038 is the VCO used in the Pollard Syndrums of the late 
70's too. I don't want to open my blue beast to double check either... 
Anyway, those 8038 are in any case quite messy to find these days. I bought 
one to fix a broken channel in the Pollard and remember I had to buy in the 
US after extensive googling...

So you mean Dave put together the SDS-2 from already available stuff. Funny 
indeed! :)
If you build one, please let me know if your noise sounds as an overdrive 
too...

When is that issue of "Praxis  & Hobby" from?
