sds-7 and a few Q's

sds-7 and a few Q's

2007-05-11 by jesper@electronic-obsession.se

Hi List!

My ex-Ultravox piece arrived today. Good packing and OK but gigged condition
with 8 cards inside. According to Tony Holmes (the seller and also live
drummer of 90's Ultravox) it's equipped with octaban samples all over. The
labels says 2x bass, 2x snare and the rest toms. Are the cards any different
except for the proms?

On the bottom it's autographed by someone in 1987 and also marked
"alternative radio" with a flash through the name. The auto looks like A.C.
Jen..... with the dotted line indicating stuff hard to interpret. DOes this
ring a bell to anyone of you who knows all the Simmons drummers of the 80's
by heart?

Also, if someone is awake to give me the pin config of the XLR outs I'd
appreciate it.

electronically yours, jesper

Do you mean the autograph or the SDS-7? SDS-7 is pictured elsewhere on the
net but I just took a few shots of the auto so I'll get to that later...

And if you mean "assembled" as in complete kit I cannot, my set is in one
part af the studio and the SDS-7 in the other + I will mainly use it from a
sequencer anyway...

With it came a bunch of photocopies too. If I find anything out of the
ordinary there I'll report on that too...

Update regarding the photocopies;

Mainly copies from "the simmons drum book" (50 pages or so), some articles
or product sheets on SDX and SDS-1, copies of "Creative use of your SDS-7"
(of which I own the original already) and something called "Creative Use Of
Your SDS-7 - Rev issue 2, august '96". It's apparently made by "Soundunit
Ltd (Simmons)" (written like that)
