SDS 7 for sale

2006-09-19 by micksanturio

Hi Group
I have a set of SDS7s for sale.I've posted on here before but I've been really
lazy about selling them since they're packed up and I don't see them that
much. There are photos in the photo section under Micks SDS7.If someone
makes a decent offer I'll take it.Buyer pays shipping.I live in New York City.
As you'll see the kit is in excellent condition.Any questions feel free to ask.
  Peace
    Mick

Hi,

I am interested in buying that console. I should not have a problem
with shipping it because I live in Illinois. I saw your kit and
thought "Man! I wished I had that kit with the black stands, black
pads, SDS7 console, instruction booklet, and selector pad!". I have
been looking for that kit since 2002, when I got involved in making a
Simmons kit kinda like that of what Rick Allen played for the Hysteria
tour. I tried looking at pawn shops and second-hand music stores, but
I had no luck. A kid I went to school with tried to sell me an SDS7
kit for $200, but it turned out it was all a lie (he never had that
kit to begin with, he tried to cheat me). I have been looking on eBay
fro one, but everytine I find one, either I don't have the money or
someone shoots it up way too high. I think a fair price for that kit,
according to my research, would be around $50-$200. Most of the ones I
keep finding are way over my budget, like $400-over $1,000, but I know
I have seen ones cheaper than that. I have found a memory cassette on
eBay to go with it, and I am planning on buying that too.

Some questions I have are:

1. Is your console a digital-analog (1 EPROM per card) or is it all
digital (2 EPROMS per card)?

2. Does it come with the original box, like what my SDS1000 kit came
in (I wanted the SDS7 because it was my first console of choice, since
2002. My SDS1000 has a really "inferior" design, because the slaps are
cruddy and the toms don't go high enough like the SDSV or SDS7 consoles).

3. Do you have an SDSEPB and EPROM eraser to go with that?

Thank you for posting that up.

Someone help me out here.Is $200.00 all that kit is worth?
Dean I'm gonna have to think about this.I know that they have
a limited market but that seems a little low.I'm not looking to
rip anybody off either but at that price I might as well keep it
as a practice kit.
Does every one here pretty much agree on that $200.00 value?
       Mick
PS Pix are in photos section under Mick's SDS7s
ThankYou in advance

I think if You want something bad, you pay a fair price
Sometimes I find bargain's and I buy them, because there cheap
If you don't like the price, don't sell. Keep it for yourself
Just wait, cause the 80ties are coming back and people want to have a Simmons.

Saw that with FM-synthesizers, 2 years ago I bought an DX7 for approx €70
Now it does over 200.
Good luck

BERK!

Cool! Where did you research? I take two...

The Porsche dealer won't sell me a 911 for 500$ if I tell him the list
price is far over my budget. (Sorry for this comparison, the SDS7
owners do know that in fact mechanically the brain is a piece of crap)
Seriously, the market makes the price and you need a lot of luck and a
very very naive seller to get a full SDS7 kit between 50$ and 200$.
Even for the brain with 5 cards only the price is ok. $400+ sounds
more realistic to me. But: You might have luck if you're patient
enough. So: Good luck!

So here is MY experience concerning prices of SDS7 (if anybody is
still interested and you are not already fed up with this topic,
otherwise please skip ...)
I got a brain with BD, SN and 5 tom cards not working for under
100GBP. Michael (Buchner) fixed it for me and even build a 1:1 HiHat
and a 16bit cymbal card out of two tom cards. So I consider myself
being one of the lucky guys (although I haven't managed to pick it up
at his home yet but as soon as I will have moved next month I will, I
swear!)
