If they're octagon it's not Simmons... Simmons are Hexagons...

Wasn't it "UP" that did octagons? Dynacord was pentagons if I remember 
correctly...

uP used an uneven six sided pad at one time - like a triange with the corners
cut off.

The later Clone kit (Multiclone) came with octagon pads.  (The early Clone 
kits used a Remo practice kit with transducers added).
