A bit off the subject, but cool!!!!

A bit off the subject, but cool!!!!

Has anyone seen this yet:

www.zendrum.com

???????????????????????????????????

I was in Florida, and saw 2 different drummers/percussionists use
them, and it was INCREDIBLE!!!!

1 was using a Roland TD-20 drum module, and the other was using a
Roland 2060 Synth/Percussion Module (He played Bass & Synth lines,
bells, and different percussion parts!) They both had wireless midi
systems, and put on on great shows!

And there was a street/side-show band in MGM Studios park where the
drummer was using Simmons Drum Pads! (Wasn't using a Simmons Module
though...sounded like an Alesis or Roland)

Check it out! It's a wild & different take based on the Electronic
drum system!

Rodney,

yep, had a play with one at a friends..
Cracking thing, but two things suprised me
1) the size, its MASSIVE! bigger than the body of my bass guitar
2) the weight..

Check this for alternative controllers ;-

in particular the 'drum' video on this page ;-

The one guy at Animal Kingdom let me try his out & play for a few mins
(you'd have tought he was a salesman for zendrum!)...was an impressive
instrument! Didn't think it was all that heavy...about that of a Les
Paul or a little heavier. They have a different smaller version, but
I like the way the triggers are placed on the larger version. I think
its going to be my next purchase, as it is a LOT cheaper than a Stick
Bass! (LOL!)

It'll be VERY interesting triggering some of them with a modern
module, and then some of them with my SDS-9 or SDS1000!

Yeah, it just surprised me..

Yeah, the larger one is nicer, it was just bigger than I expected :-)

I treated myself to a Stick XG, it's due in June :-(
Can't wait though.

Yeah, my friend had it hooked up to his protools rig, trigger a drum kit
plug in, sounded good, but it wasn't a simmons :-)
