2005-10-13 by MayasLady@aol.com

My SDSV is at the shop trying to be repaired. He can't do it. His problem is
with the buttons. Can any one help me find a reputable Simmons repair person
that can completely go thru my unit and clean check and service the unit so
it is fresh and new again. I need your
 help

Hi,
my Name is Michael and I live in Germany. I may not be a reputable Service Person, but I know the SDSV by Heart (I built one on my own 20 Years ago because I couln't afford an Original, but today I have it, with all available Modules), so I can give your Repairshop all necessary Information. I have drawn a basic Signal Flow Schematics 20 Years ago, you can download this at www.simmonsmuseum.com. You have a Problem with these Preset-Switches, am I right? So I have to know: What is the Problem with the Buttons? Are the Buttons themselves worn out (You have to press hard or many Times to change the Presets) and you need only Spare-Parts (Only one LED should be lit on the Module Front if you push a Button)? Or is the LOGIC behind these Buttons the Problem (maybe one, two or no LED is lit, others gleaming, or you push Button for Preset 1 and the LEDs of Preset f.e. 4 and 2 are lit together)? Then you have to change IC2 in most Cases (4556) or IC 1 (4013). Both very cheap.
