I love to pick Thierry’s brain, but never been able to get in contact with him. If anyone knowing him could reach out and hear if he interested to add to the conversation?
I believe I dissected enough information to hook up an Arduino developer board to the SDS7 bus. http://snw.lonningdal.no/sds7.php#15CV Programming shouldn’t be very difficult.
What’s holding me back are the edge connector, I don’t want to solder inside my SDS and need to design an edge connector and get it manufactured.
If possible I want to make one that can be used in all position incl. CPU/Memory. Not decided how much active electronic I should design for on the connector, a power supply/protection would make sense. Maybe only have the connector made with mounting holes for a frame to hang any crazy idea on J But then it also need to be designed not to fall out of the socket.
BTW: Any contributor should understand I post under open source hardware. In short meaning anyone can take from this project and make their own luck, but they also have to share what they add to the project for other to do the same. I will not be in a position to order, build or otherwise function as a distributor of parts or finished products. If I finish any software or a PCB design I’ll post files and anyone can order from their favorite PCB manufacturer. I very much like the idea of sites like https://oshpark.com
