Vintage Simmons Drums (UK) Users Group

Hi,
I bet I am not the only one with the following problem: I have three
complete sets of SDS V pads. One 5-piece set fits on the quite modern
Pearl tom stands, the other two sets don't?! How can that be? My
theory is that the former owner of the fitting set has somehow widened
the wholes which take the tom arm or another possibility is that I am
talking about two generations of SDS V pads. I also have a set of the
original Simmons stands that came with the SDS V. They work perfect
with the pads which do not fit to Pearl stands, but on the other hand
they unfortunetaly are to small for the Pearl clamps. I am desperate...
Is there any proper way to widen the wholes without destroying them?
