In fact, it was "fun fun fun"....
Regarding the FSRs.. the smallest quantity the factory will run is 25 at a cost of $110.00 USD per unit.
Add Tooling Costs, Film, Design... etc... divided by 25.. brings the total per unit to just under $140 USD each.With greater quantities ordered, the cost per unit drops as follows:
- a run of 50... the units are just under $75 USD each plus tooling divided by 50
- a run of 100... the units are just under $50 USD each plus tooling divided by 100
- a run of 250... the units are just under $37 USD each plus tooling divided by 250
(A 'unit' is defined as a complete FSR including the printed foil and resistor.. fully assembled and ready to be installed into a ZI "Tom" Pad )...
These costs are what the factory has quoted. There is no price markup or profit to be had at all from this.
