Vintage Simmons Drums (UK) Users Group

Hi everybody,

i have three Simmons SDS-1000, two of them non working, the 
microcontrollers are dead, the other one its working very nice. 

I want to know if someone know where to get another microcontroller. 
I went to a electronic shop, and i wanted to make a copy but the said 
the micro is protected. But i'm not sure is that true. I know that 
chip have a lock protection for software piracy. But is there a way 
to hack to make the copy possible ?

This Simmons use the 8051 microcontroller.
