SDS9 Pads on SDSV Brain

Hi there!
I have been reading in this group for a while and finally this is my first posting...so:

As mentioned in the subject: can you trigger a SDSV Brain with SDS9 Pads? I read that the SDSV needs the "sharp" impulses from the original polycarbonat pads? True?
